Timings & booking
01How long does a bespoke build take?

A typical bespoke build usually takes between 3 and 10 weeks. The exact time frame depends on the specification, materials, and any custom features you’d like included. Larger vans (such as L2/L3 models) generally take closer to the upper end of the timeframe because of the additional cabinetry and installation work required.

Once we finalise your design and confirm the van size, we can provide a more accurate schedule.

02Do you have a waitlist?

We don’t operate a formal waitlist. Instead, we schedule jobs based on our available dates and your preferred timing. If we have a free slot, we can book the work in straight away, or we can arrange a specific day that suits you. This way, every job is planned properly without the need for a waiting list.

03What is the typical process from start to finish?

The process is simple and designed to make everything straightforward for you.

  • Initial enquiry — you tell us what furniture unit or preparation work you need, and we confirm the details.
  • Estimate — we prepare an estimate based on your requirements. Once you accept it, we raise a 60% deposit invoice to secure your booking.
  • Scheduling — we don’t use a waitlist. We offer you our next available dates, or book a specific day that suits you.
  • Preparation day — you bring your van in on the agreed date. The job is completed within the agreed timeframe, and the van stays with us until all work is finished.
  • Manufacturing — if your furniture unit is being made, we build it to your specification using Vöhringer lightweight ply in the colour you chose.
  • Collection & final payment — once the work is complete, the remaining balance is paid on collection.
  • Warranty — all furniture units come with a 6-month warranty covering manufacturing defects, workmanship, materials and supplied fixings. Appliances are covered by their manufacturer warranties.
Pricing & payment
04What does it cost to prepare a van?

The cost of preparing a van before the furniture unit can be installed depends on your needs and the size of the van. We can provide an estimate based on your requirements, but the final cost is confirmed once we assess the vehicle and understand the full scope of preparation work.

05Do you take a deposit?

Yes. After you accept the estimate, we raise a 60% deposit invoice to secure your booking and reserve the date for your preparation work. The remaining balance is paid on completion of the job.

Your van
06Which van brands do you work on?

We work on all major van brands — VW, Ford, Mercedes, Renault, Vauxhall, Peugeot, Citroën, Toyota and many others. As long as the van meets the size requirements for your furniture unit, we can carry out the preparation work.

07Can I use my van while you work, or does it stay with you?

The van needs to stay with us until the work is fully completed. All preparation work is carried out on the scheduled day, and the vehicle must remain with us for the duration of the job. Once the work is finished, the van can be collected straight away.

Materials & finishes
08What thickness Vöhringer ply do you use?

We use Vöhringer lightweight furniture ply in 15 mm.

Lightweight, furniture-grade — the same board Hymer and most premium European builders use.
09What colours are available?

We offer a wide range of Vöhringer colours and finishes, including wood grains, solid colours and modern textured options. There are 52 to choose from, so you can pick the exact look that suits your furniture unit. If you have a specific colour in mind, we can show you samples and help you select the best match. You don’t have to decide when you order either — plenty of customers choose their colour later, once they’ve seen samples.

10Do you fit insulation and sound deadening?

Yes. This can be added to your preparation work if required. We use high-quality materials designed specifically for campervan builds, helping improve thermal performance and reduce road noise. If you’d like insulation or sound deadening included, we can discuss the areas you want covered and schedule it alongside your other work.

Visiting us & aftercare
11Can I visit the workshop?

Yes, you’re welcome to visit. You can book an appointment in advance or simply pop in during our opening hours. We just ask that visits are arranged or timed so the workspace is safe and someone is available to help you.

Come and see a build in progress — kettle is usually on.
12What if I’m not happy with the result?

We will always work with you to put it right. Before any work begins, we agree the design, materials and preparation details. If something doesn’t meet expectations, we review it together and make the necessary adjustments. Our goal is that every customer is satisfied with the final outcome.

13Is there a warranty?

Yes. All furniture units — including furniture pod units and flat-pack furniture — come with a 6-month warranty covering manufacturing defects in the furniture components and any supplied fixings.

  • All manufactured furniture units are covered for defects in workmanship and materials for 6 months.
  • Any appliances we supply (fridges, hobs and other equipment) are covered under the manufacturer’s own warranty, which varies by brand.
14What are your returns and refunds policies?

If an item is faulty or has a manufacturing defect, we will always work with you to resolve it. Our policies are:

  • Furniture units (pod units, flat-pack, manufactured units) — covered by a 6-month warranty for manufacturing defects, workmanship issues, materials used and supplied fixings. If a defect is confirmed, we will repair, replace or refund depending on the situation.
  • Appliances (fridges, hobs and similar) supplied by us — covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, and any returns or repairs follow the manufacturer’s process.
  • Refunds for faulty items — if an item is confirmed faulty, we will arrange a return and issue a refund or replacement according to the warranty terms.
  • Non-faulty returns — made-to-order furniture units cannot be returned unless there is a defect, as they are manufactured specifically to your order.
